JARED & KRISTIN FITZGERALD, OWNERS

We founded Southern Oaks Flooring in 2010, two years after moving to Nashville from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. We both graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with degrees in history and foreign languages, subjects we still avidly study today in our spare time (we're nerds.)

Our work as been featured on HGTV's Property Brothers, in Southern Living Magazine, and various other publications. Jared is certified by the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) in hardwood sanding and refinishing and installation, and he has trained with some of the most skilled and respected wood flooring professionals in the United States. Valuable mentorships and NWFA professional workshops have advanced Jared's skills and knowledge exponentially, allowing Southern Oaks Flooring to offer clients unparalleled possibilities in flooring designs and finishes. Jared has also trained other hardwood flooring contractors as an NWFA Instructor. 

 

Kristin's background in history contributes to her role as an adviser to clients with historic renovations. She ensures Southern Oaks Flooring honors the heritage of the materials while incorporating them into a modern design aesthetic. She also serves as our Marketing Director and oversees client communications.

When we're not helping our hardwood flooring clients in Nashville, we're traveling with our three boys across the U.S., or coming back home to play baseball together and cheer on the Red Sox. Or the Cardinals. Because a house divided cannot stand...except when it comes to America's past time.
